Reflection
After spending 10 days in company visit, sightseeing & networking dinner with Singaporean working in China in different city of PRD Region. Last night, when I review the objectives that I had set for myself before coming to this trip, I feel that I had a sense of satisfaction.
Company visit
Before coming to China, I though setting up a business in China was like setting up business in Singapore. But setting up a business in China was not very easy. As you need to understand a lot of criteria such as industry trend, location, government incentive, the type of competitor, the infrastructure, finding a local partner and etc… Everyone has a culture that was immunity into their system was the giving out of name card.
Networking dinner
This is the first time, I attend a networking dinner. They invited Singaporean and foreigners who are working in china for a long period of time. They share their own working experience, lifestyle and culture difference working in a foreign country. Most of them give us opinion that it is time for us to come out of our comfort zone to experience a difference life and as Singapore is very well developed. In future year time, the market in China will be becoming bigger and bigger.
Sightseeing
I observe that different city had different lifestyle and culture. The most memorable was the crossing the road of a busy street. The traffic light was useless to the people as well as the vehicles as they did not obey the traffic and when we are crossing the road we were very afraid as we must look at both the traffic. I also remember that at the last night at the hotel Caton, our room had blackout 2 times and this teach me a lesson, remember to bring torchlight for overseas trip.
To wrap up my speech, as each of us come from different department and we only know which other for 10 days but I was very happy to know all of you.
